Vested-benefits account

Published 10 October 2023 · updated 20 September 2026 · Written or reviewed by Christophe Bouin

A vested-benefits account or policy keeps occupational-pension assets between two jobs, or when you leave Switzerland’s pension system. It is not a third pillar and it does not follow the pillar 3a ceiling.

The longer note is vested benefits.

The wider frame is the Swiss third pillar.
